Mobile Pantry: Just HOPE serves those who are homeless/displaced or those who lack reliable transportation. Our mobile pantry is stocked with easy-make foods for those without kitchen access and normal food for those who are shut-ins without transportation to get to a traditional pantry. Our pantry is also stocked with hygiene items to ensure healthy hygiene of those we serve.
SHiP Program: Sustainable Housing in Progress is a program that aids individuals that are homeless with finding stable and permanent housing. We assist with locating housing, securing first month’s rent, deposit, and utility deposit. We develop relationships with landlords so that the deposit we pay for clients, come back to us to continue to serve others after they move out. We provide case management to all clients during and after their transition.
Women LEAD Program: This program is to assist women who have little to no employable skills enter or re-enter the workforce. We set up training and/or education for each participant to get them ready for a career. We maintain relationships with local employers to create or open up positions for these women who need living wage paying jobs to better provide for their families. We provide uniforms and business attire from our thrift store.
Outreach outings: We provide outings for those who are homeless, especially our youth, to allow them a sense of normalcy while going through their crisis situation. These trips offer valuable family time to individuals forced to reside in their vehicles, campsites, motel rooms, or with other family members or friends. Our trips are to the park, theme parks, YMCA, skating rink, Tanglewood Festival of Lights, pumpkin patches, and other local family-friendly places. All outings include a meal for the child and at least one parent.
Family Day Center: Our FDC provides shelter from the cold and hot weather to those experiencing homeless. It is set up similar to a living-room space with a sectional couch, TV with cable, desks with computers and internet access (for educational use, job search, & housing search), books, and a children’s play area. We also have a laundry facility that is for our clients to use to wash their clothing. The FDC is open anytime our office is open. It is most often used by our homeless students to complete homework assignments and our families during Family Game Nights.
Internal Thrift Store: Our store is open to our clients and the public. Our clients obtain the items they need through a voucher program at no charge. Some of our clients have lost everything they own and are starting completely over so the items from our thrift store come at great benefit. The public can shop our affordable prices and know that they are helping support our programs. ALL proceeds benefit Just HOPE programs. We are always in need of clothing, shoes, household items, furniture, bedding, seasonal items, and toys/entertainment items. All items in our store are kindly donated by generous supporters.
JHI always appreciates your contributions and has drop-off locations for donors to bring non-perishable items and new or gently used clothing and household items.
